# Colors and notes

#### **Transaction Colors**

you can assign colors to transactions, making it easier to visually distinguish between different types of expenses or income. This means you can quickly filter your transactions by color, helping you spot patterns and trends, such as identifying which types of expenses are more frequent or how often you engage in certain spending activities.

{% hint style="info" %}
These colors are not just for visual organization—they also integrate with the **Smart Search** tool. When you select a color for a transaction, it is automatically added as a search option in Smart Search.

#### **Adding Notes to Transactions**

Notes are a handy way to add additional context to any transaction. Whether it's a reminder of why you made a purchase, details about a discount received, or any other important information, notes help you keep everything organized. When using Smart Search, notes attached to transactions provide instant clarity on specific entries, making it easier to recall the details of your spending.

{% hint style="info" %}
You can also choose to display them directly in the app’s transaction list. This means that whenever you view your transactions, these notes will always be visible, providing immediate context and clarity.
