Missing your emojis?
Prefer emojis to icons? Hide the category icons and add an emoji to the start of each category name.
tip
Colours, shapes, progress bars, row density, icons and more: you can personalise almost everything. And yes, you can swap the icons for your favourite emojis.
Hide the icons
- On the Budget tab, tap the ⋮ menu at the top right and choose Customize interface (or go to More › Settings).
- Under Appearance, tap Icon style.
- Choose Hide icons: all category icons disappear for a clean, minimal look.
Add emojis to your category names
- Open Groups and categories (from the side menu, or at the bottom of Budget Display in More › Settings).
- Tap the ⋮ next to a category and choose Edit.
- Type an emoji at the start of the name, for example "🏠 Rent/Mortgage" instead of "Rent/Mortgage".
- Confirm.
Repeat for each category you want to personalise. See Groups and categories for more on editing categories.

Sticking with icons? As you type or change a category name, the app suggests a fitting icon from its set, in any language.
