What is my net worth?

The Net worth screen adds up what you own (assets) and subtracts what you owe (liabilities), so you can see your overall financial position and how it changes month by month.

You can grow your net worth in two ways: pay down debt (fewer liabilities) or save and invest (more assets). Both count.

Open it​

  • Open the side menu and tap Net worth, or
  • go to Insights and tap What is my net worth? under Financial overview.

Net worth isn't available in a Simple tracker budget.

What you'll see​

  • Current: your total Assets, Liabilities and Net worth right now. They include your account balances, your debts and any other assets and liabilities you add on this screen.
  • Insights: how your net worth changed This month vs last month, as a 3-month trend and as a 12-month trend.
  • Historical Net Worth: a chart of your net worth over time. Tap a month to see its assets, liabilities and net worth.
  • Other assets and Other liabilities: things you want to count that aren't accounts in your budget (see below).
  • Debts: your open debts. Tap one to open it.

Other assets and liabilities​

Use these lists for things you'd rather keep outside your budget, such as crypto, collectibles, retirement funds or a rental property (assets), or a family loan or a lease (liabilities).

  1. Tap the new entry button next to Other assets or Other liabilities.
  2. Enter a name and the current value, and pick an icon and colour.
  3. Whenever the value changes, open the entry and update it. Each update is kept, so the chart can show the history.

Swipe an entry to hide it from the net worth calculation, or to show it again. Tap Reorder to change the order of the list.

Settings and shortcuts​

The buttons in the top bar:

  • Net worth settings: choose the Items to include (which accounts and entries count), and whether to Include archive accounts in chart, Include closed debts and Show insights message (a short encouraging message with your insights). A dot on the button means you've changed the defaults.
  • Pin: pin the Historical Net Worth chart to the top of the Insights screen.
  • Bookmark: bookmark the report.

Free and Pro​

On the Free plan, the Historical Net Worth chart covers the last 3 months, the net worth insights are locked, and you can add up to 5 other assets and liabilities. Pro shows your full history and insights and raises the limit to 200 entries.
