Notifications

Available onAndroidiOSWeb

When a reminder goes off, it also lands in Recent notifications, so you can come back to it later even if you dismissed it on your phone.

Open your notifications

On the Budget tab, tap the bell in the top bar. An orange dot on the bell means you have unread notifications.

The screen's title shows how many are unread, for example Recent notifications (3). Notifications are grouped by day, newest first. Each one shows the time and what it's about (for example "09:00 • Rent"), with its message underneath. Unread ones are brighter and have an orange dot.

If there's nothing yet, the screen says "No notifications or reminders yet. As things happen, you'll see updates and reminders here!"

Open a notification

Tap a notification to see it in full. Opening it marks it as read. The details show:

  • the message;
  • Date and Time: when it went off;
  • Source: what the reminder is attached to, such as a category, an account or a payee;
  • More details: opens that item (a category, account, payee, shopping list…). General reminders don't have it;
  • Delete: removes the notification after you confirm.

Read, unread and delete

  • Swipe right on a notification to mark it as read ("Got it! Notification marked as read.").
  • Swipe left to delete it straight away.
  • Or tap its ⋮ and choose Delete, Mark as read or Mark as unread.

For all of them at once, tap the ⋮ at the top of the screen:

  • Mark all as read (when anything is unread).
  • Delete all: asks Delete all notifications? and needs you to tick the confirmation box first. This can't be undone.

The alarm clock button at the top opens your Reminders, where you add, change and delete the reminders themselves. Deleting a notification doesn't delete its reminder.

Info

Notifications come from your reminders, so the list is the same on every device you sign in to. On the web you can read and manage them, but the web app can't pop them up or create most reminders. See Reminders.
