Am I spending more this month?
Am I spending more this month? compares what you've spent so far this month with what you'd spent by the same day last month, for all your accounts together and for each account. It's a quick check on whether this month is running hotter or cooler than the last.
Open it
- Go to Insights and tap Am I spending more this month? under Financial overview, or
- on the Accounts tab, tap the Spending insights button (the bar chart icon) in the top bar.
Under the title, Comparing to … shows the day of last month the app compares with. In a Simple tracker budget, which has no accounts, this report isn't offered.
How the comparison works
- For the current month, the app adds up your spending from the 1st to today, and last month's spending from the 1st to the same day of the month. If last month was shorter, it stops at last month's last day.
- For a past month (picked with the month picker on the Budget tab), it compares the whole month with the whole month before.
What you'll see
At the top, a message sums up the trend, with an animation and a colour to match:

If you spent nothing last month (or only had refunds), there's nothing to compare with yet, and the message explains that the report gets better as you keep using the app.
Overall insight
One card for all your accounts:
- My spending so far, for the month shown under it;
- Spent last month, up to the comparison day;
- Trend overall: the change in percent;
- Average daily spending: This month and Last month.
Tap the card to open Where have I spent the most over time? for this month, grouped by category.
Breakdown by account
The same figures for each account, with its Balance, starting with the account you've spent the most from this month. Tap an account to open its transactions.
Compact view
The Compact button in the top bar hides the daily averages so more accounts fit on the screen. Tap it again to bring them back. The app remembers your choice.
Free and Pro
The report is free to open. The comparison figures and the message are part of Pro: on the Free plan they show a lock, with Upgrade to Pro and View benefits at the top. Tap a locked figure to see what Pro includes.
