Allocation history
The Allocation history is a log of every change to your category allocations: what changed, when, by how much and where it came from. Use it to retrace your steps, find what caused an overallocation or undo an allocation you didn't mean to make.
Open the allocation history
- On the Budget tab, open the ⋮ menu at the top right and choose Allocation history.
- Or, when the Budget health check shows an overallocation, tap the arrow on that line.
- For a single category: tap the category, tap View transactions, then Allocation history to see only that category's changes (Pro).
What each entry shows
Entries are grouped by day, newest first. Each one shows the category and the change, for example "Adjusted from $0.00 to $300.00". When an entry wasn't a manual allocation, it also says where it came from: Auto-allocation, Money reallocation, a credit or refund, or a linked category.
Entries that affected overallocation say so, so the culprit is easy to spot:
- "…, allocating beyond available funds by $476.55": this change caused an overallocation.
- "…, further increasing overallocation to …" or "…, lowering overallocation to …".
- "…, budget back on track": this change fixed it.
Undo an allocation
- Tap an entry to open its details (date, time, period, source and Net change).
- Tap Undo, then confirm.
You can also swipe an entry from right to left to undo it, or from left to right to open that category. Undone entries are marked with an undo icon.
Because balances carry over from month to month, swiping only undoes changes in the current month. From an entry's details you can undo a change from an earlier month, but the app warns you first: "Undoing this allocation will adjust the carried-over balance from previous months and may require you to update subsequent periods."
Clear the history
Tap the delete button at the top of the screen to clear the whole history. This only removes the log: "This will remove your allocation history but won't revert any allocations."
Free and Pro
On Free, the allocation history shows your 15 most recent entries. Pro shows your full history and adds the per-category history.
