The Accounts tab
The Accounts tab lists every account you track (bank accounts, cash, credit cards, loans, investments) with its balance, grouped by account type. It's where you add accounts and open each one's details.
A Simple tracker budget doesn't use accounts, so it has no Accounts tab.
What's on the tab
- Pinned accounts at the top: the accounts you pinned from their details screen. See Basic details.
- Your accounts grouped by type (Checking, Savings, Credit card and so on), each group with its total Balance. The group header stays at the top of the screen while you scroll through it. See Types.
- Tap an account to open its Account details. See Basic details.
- When imported transactions are waiting for an account, a Transaction batches banner says how many; tap Assign to pick their accounts.
Swipe an account to the right to open its transactions, or to the left to add a transaction to it. See Swipe shortcuts.
The buttons at the top
- Spending insights (the bar chart): opens Am I spending more this month?.
- Net worth (the line chart): opens What is my net worth?.
- New account (the plus): adds an account (below).
- The ⋮ menu:
- Balance projections: where your accounts' balances are heading. See Balance projection.
- Reorder: drag your accounts into the order you want (when you have more than one).
- Reorder account types: drag the type groups into the order you want (when you have more than one type).
- View archive: your archived accounts, to bring one back. See Archived accounts.
Add a checking, savings or cash account
-
On the Accounts tab, tap New account (the plus at the top). With no accounts yet, tap New account in the middle of the screen.
-
Enter the Account name. You can also pick an icon and a colour.
-
Tap Account type and choose Checking, Savings, Investment or Cash on hand. See Types for what each one is for.
-
Enter the Initial balance: what's in the account today.
-
Tap the tick at the top to save.
The account appears on the tab under its type. To keep money aside for a savings goal, open the new account and link a category to it (Linked category, see Basic details).
For other kinds of accounts, the form asks for more:
- Credit card: payment strategy, limit, closing and due days. See Credit cards.
- Loan: loan balance, interest, payments and the category for the repayments. See Large debts.
- Off budget: balances you only want to watch, such as investments. See Tracking investments.
On the Free plan you can have 5 accounts. Pro raises this to 100.
